Context:

TCaroline is a ceramics artist inspired by the traditions of northeast Brazil.  She is a history graduate of the University of São Paulo and specialized in archaeology and cultural restoration.  Caroline began working with ceramics in the 1990s, focused on producing heirlooms that would be passed between generations.  She started to use refined Brazilian clays and high temperature kilning to produce elegant vases with seemingly delicate thin walls.  The clay does not contain any additives.  Objects are kilned only once at approximately 1,250° Celsius, resulting in remarkably light objects.  Attracted by the simple and pure forms of everyday objects, she adapted some of these items by imprinting delicate lace and embroidery upon clay forms to transform these goods into distinctive art pieces.  This technique is known as "manual imprint upon forms".  Caroline's work expresses her design innovation, technical ability and deep respect and appreciation for Brazil's rich history and multicultural diversity.

Appropriate care should be taken with these objects, including handling with two hands, avoiding impacts and washing with mild soaps and brushes and allowing to drain.
